What we ordered: biscuits and gravy, chocolate chip buttermilk pancakes, hashbrown bowl, ham breakfast sandwhich This is a great no-frills tasty breakfast joint in Adams Morgan.Anybody will find something they like on the menu. What I loved the most about this food was that it was not overly salted! I don't cook with alot of salt and so usually at places like diners, they will add too much salt for my taste. But not here. They seasoned everything perfectly without making me down glasses of water. Overall, the food was so good and gave us the energy needed to explore the area. The service was a bit slow but that's ok.We were in no rush. All that really matters was the food anyways and we left happy. Oh also, they don't have any fancy coffees. All you can get a regular or decaf brewed coffee.Like I said, no frills but worth the visit.
Do you ever eat somewhere and think about the food you ate for hours, days, months, years, like a long lost lover?? The milkshake from the DINER is that long lost lover for me.I had the peanut butter milkshake, emphasis on the peanut butter. It brought me back to my childhood (in a good way).It cured my depression.Angels sung when it touched my tongue.I am pretty sure I had a religious experience in that diner, sipping that milkshake at 11:30pm. The food was excellent too!! We had breakfast so I can't speak to lunch or dinner stuff, but I'd confidently order anything from here.Everything was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, overall 1000000/10 meal.Service was excellent and I loved the environment too.Definitely go here if you want breakfast, vibes, and a transcendental milkshake experience.
The food is OK. The eggs didn't do anything for me.They taste of nothing. I couldn't taste the egg of the cheddar cheese. I saw my server less frequent than I would've thought. Very underwhelmed, not worth the 20 dollars I'm afraid. They need to do better on the service side and the food side.
