Ethiopian restaurant, Bar, Family restaurant
Found this place by searching Google Maps and so happy I did. There other Ethiopian restaurants I have dined at in the past, but now I am going to compare them all to Abuare. The dishes were so delicious and the offerings were exactly what we wanted. Also, the staff is so friendly and really set the tone for such an enjoyable dinner. Definitely ask for sauces if you like spice. The condiments are homemade and such a great flavor and addition to any item. I will be headed again soon. Thank you so much Abuare!

Thank you for choosing Abuare Restaurant to experience the rich and vibrant flavors of Ethiopian cuisine, we are grateful for the opportunity to share our culinary traditions with you.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about our meal last night. Coming to DC from Charleston, where exceptional ethnic food is almost non-existent, we were overjoyed to find Abuare. The woman waiting on us was as hospitable as you can get and her recommendations were perfect. The meat and lentil (separate) sambusas were freshly folded and delicious with excellent individual flavors. Donât forget to ask for both hot sauces. One is traditional red chili sauce while the other was more chunky/vinegar/garlic/ginger deliciousness. The two meat special was also phenomenal. The recommendation to have the Lentil and Chickpea as sides was, like everything else, perfect.Finishing with baklava and their Ethiopian âSambucaâ is highly recommended. Donât hesitate to head to this cute, intimate, casual spot with incredible food and even more incredible hospitality.

We really appreciate you Drew Harris.Thank you for coming to our restaurant, we look forward in seeing you again.
This restaurant felt like a small mom and pop place--we loved it.Food was delicious and it was a great first time experience for us.The injera was so nice and light--the perfect vessel for the well spiced food.
