Went here with about 15 other family members. It's a BBQ spot, so they have NO vegan entree options.I didn't like the inconsistency in some of their food items. For instance, my grandson's onion rings were nicely breaded and fried.Yet, my onion rings, which didn't come out with my other food, was lacking most of the breading and were greasy. My grandson's and daughter's mac and cheese had a nice, held together consistency (see picture with the onion rings), but my husband's looked, and tasted like watery boxed mac and cheese (see picture with the ribs). My husband also said the ribs were tough and lacked flavor. They had three different sauces on the table and all were rather watery. They also didn't have the apple pie that is shown on the menu.Neither the sweetened nor unsweetened teas were strong or flavorful. I will say, the hush puppies were good and my daughter and grandson liked their cornbread and the version of the mac and cheese they got.The portions were generous, the food was served quickly, and the staff were friendly. Perhaps it wasn't a good night or our party was too large. It was my first experience and, most likely, my last.
Been to Rodney Scott plenty of times. The food is great. The only issue is sometimes you have a long wait to place your order. Not a long line, but a long wait.Last time I went I stood there at the country by myself waiting to place an order for like 13 minutes. Finally someone came and took my order. The burger and baked beans were good as usual. The food has always been good and was that day as well. The ONLY reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I've had to wait when there was no rush and I tend to always come after the lunch crowd 14:30-15:00.So not sure why there is no one taking order but I guess it happens.Won't stop my from returning just wish that part could get cleaned up some. Restaurant and bathroom is always clean.Tables are always clean and filled with the offered condiments and sauce options.Paper towels always more than half full.Good spot and atmosphere and great parking as well.
I went with my family party of 4.We ordered 2 half racks w/ Collard Greens, Mac n Cheese, Baked Beans and Coleslaw. 1 pc Catfish Plate w/ Hushpuppy, Coleslaw, Potato Salad and French Fries.Lastly, 12 pc wings and 4 drinks. Let’s start with the fact they only give 1 hush puppy with taste like fried cone bread. The Wings which my son and I felt were undercooked lacking flavor.Due to the redness in the middle.Fish was a very small piece of Catfish.Coleslaw was extra salty and Mac n Cheese lack flavor. The Collard Greens tasted like it was siting in a pot of water. My mom felt her rack of ribs were undercooked as well! The cups for the drinks are 12 oz solo cups. The manager came and explained that the rings were smoked and then fried so they couldn’t be undercooked. No explanation for the ribs.My mother expressed the food was greasy and lack flavor so the manager did give back a full refund! I may try again one day but the first impression just wasn’t a good one! Overall I feel like Rodney’s serving size(quantity of food) doesn’t match his overpriced menu!
