This was, far and away, some of the very best food and service that we enjoyed during our two-week trip to Italy, and that includes our travels outside Rome.We enjoyed it so much that made sure to reserve again for one of last nights during our second leg in Rome. You cannot beat the ambiance: the warm hospitality of the friendly owners (and their dachshund!) the simple comforts of their inviting dining room; and the pleasing company of regulars, who must already know how good their dinners will be.I have posted some photos of the excellent courses that we enjoyed, including some of the best seafood pasta and seafood risotto dishes I’ve ever enjoyed, alongside a humbly delicious and affordable Sardinian wine that one of the owners expertly picked out for us.Not pictured is something my wife enjoyed during our first visit: some of the best ravioli I’ve ever eaten (alla Norma!) Make sure to reserve for dinner here if you’re in the area and want an authentic dining experience with some of Rome’s finest hosts, cooks, and guests!
The best food we had in all of Rome, and later Florence. It's a small place with local vibes run by two grandmas. Get the Pasta Amatriciana or the seafood pasta with fresh pasta (vs gnocchi). The fish was excellent.Tiramisu was in our top in Italy.
Frutti di mare was very good.generous with the mussels.gricia was bland and under-seasoned.The review below is about the service. This restaurant is run by two old ladies and their dachshund, so understandably their service was very slow.It was also much hotter inside than outside, but even though there was an AC the lady refused to turn it on and instead handed us a plastic fan.Multiple other guests were also visibly suffering in the heat.Again, even though there was an AC.All of these service pains combined made this dinner quite unpleasant. As the cherry on top, we were charged €3 each for bread even though we weren’t served bread, but we didn’t try fighting this charge because it took 15 minutes for them to give us the bill after we asked for it three times. Quaint restaurant, I’m always for supporting small businesses, and I wish them all the success.
