Really excellent food served up in this iconic restaurant. The setting, staff and menu is really good. There was so much on the menu that I’ll have to return to try some other things.I went for the big name tickets and I wasn’t disappointed. 🍔 The 8.5/10 Black Label Burger was top notch. The onions, patty and bun blended so well.I’d like a little more attention to detail on the bun (either fresher, toasted or coated in some interesting flavour) it was just quite plain. That would be fine if it t was leaving space for the flavour of the patty or onions but it wasn’t the case. The seasoning of the patty could have been better to really get that 10/10. 🥩 The 8.5/10 Bone in New York Strip was another strong hit.The fat could have been rendered better and there could have been more flavour from the flame but the cooking of the strip was very good. The best part was the peppercorn coating.Sharp and strong - special!
We went there as a recommendation to “try the best burger she ever had”.We now agree with her and will pass this recommendation on the same way.The food was flawless, service friendly and helpful, as well as efficient. And finally - proper NYC bustling vibe.If you’re looking for a proper city dining experience this is a great option
I went to Minetta Tavern for Sunday brunch with one thing in mind: try the black label burger.Upon entering I was impressed by the decor. The exterior looks pretty unassuming, but the inside has an old school charm. My friend ordered the spinach pappardelle, and although she felt the portion size was a bit small, she really enjoyed the flavor.I, of course, ordered the black label burger and was pretty disappointed.I thought it lacked flavor, especially to warrant an almost $40 price tag.In fact, I ended up adding a bit of the flakey salt from the bread service to help bring out some taste. The portion size was generous - see the mountain of fries below.I’m glad I tried this dish to say I have, but I would not order it again. Overall, the place was nice, and the service was great. But with so many places to try in NYC, I wouldn’t come back.
