Delicious food and great service! The She Crab soup was incredible, the mozzarella and tomatoes were extremely fresh, and the pasta was solid! The atmosphere is what you would come to expect from an older building near the oceanfront, nothing pizazz, but I would come here again just for the food.
Older establishment with a rep of authentic Italian food. I wasn't impressed. I'm a people watcher and watching the interaction of the staff with each other it seemed stressed. The atmosphere wasn't authentic at all.It was old, and they played country music. The food came out quick.Real quick and it tasted like it was ready for hours. The bar tender was nice enough, but she didn't care if you stayed or went. Let's talk about the food. My simple pasta dish was all tomatoes.Like the whole can and yes the entire can.I have receipts. The chicken picata my guest chose was pale and and well watery.Again I have receipts. I can't say I would ever go there again. The martini we had was good and the props we gave to the bartender was like yeh I know. There was no personality and no care of customer service. We did not ask for a discount but it was evident we did not like our food and the bartender did discuss that in our behalf and gave us a discount of $6 off. Thank you. Please for those locals, this is not the place. And for guest it's expensive for what you're getting. Good luck!
Oh, where do I even begin to describe the culinary odyssey that is Maninnos Italian Restaurant in Virginia Beach? From the moment you walk through the door, it feels as if you've been teleported to a quaint trattoria in the heart of Italy, far removed from the bustling shores of VA Beach. Let's talk starters, shall we? The crab soup was not just a soup; it was an ethereal experience. The richness of the broth, teeming with succulent crab meat, was as comforting as a warm hug on a winter day.One spoonful and I knew I was in for an unforgettable meal. Then came the pièce de rĂŠsistance: Gnocchi Margarita and Fettuccine Alfredo. These weren't just dishes; they were love letters to Italian cuisine, penned in the language of flavor. The gnocchi were pillowy delights that danced in a sea of marinara so vibrant, it could give the Amalfi Coast a run for its money. As for the fettuccine Alfredo, the creaminess was perfectly balanced, enveloping each strand of pasta like a silk robe.Divine is an understatement. Ah, the wine. The red wine was the perfect wingmanâsmooth, confident, and complimentary, enhancing each bite and taking the whole experience to a level I didn't even know existed. And then, just when I thought I had scaled the peak of culinary Everest, out came the Tiramisu. If I could frame a dessert and hang it on my wall, this would be the one.It was not just a dessert; it was the crescendo of an opera, the climax of an epic saga. The mascarpone was feather-light, and the coffee and cocoa notes were so exquisitely balanced that each bite felt like a standing ovation. Now, let's not forget the service.Award-winning seems almost too modest a term. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being pretentiousâa maestro orchestrating an unforgettable dining experience. In short, if you're looking to be swept off your feet, look no further than Maninnos. It's not just a meal; it's a journey, a story, and a love affair with Italian cuisine all rolled into one.Trust me, you won't just leave with a full belly; you'll leave with a full heart.Ed & Kim Simons
