Just what you are looking for in a pub! Very friendly staff, a good crowd and decent food.
I was staying at the hotel around the corner and went there my first night in town.
The staff treated me like I was a regular, I was very impressed by the welcoming vibe.
I went back again and they actually remembered me from my previous time in.

I took my husband here for a birthday lunch.
He ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the salmon avocado salad.
Both were amazing!! The salad had fresh ingredients and even the dressing tasted homemade.
The fish and chips were fried to perfection and melted in your mouth.
Service was excellent and we were made to feel right at home.
The restaurant was clean and inviting and I can’t wait to return once the outdoor patio is open.
Many thanks to the owners for making my husband’s birthday special and ensure he felt celebrated.

Had 4 different people serve us while we were there, which explains the gaps in service.
Overall, they were friendly though. Shepherd's Pie was very good! Fish part of the "fish and chips" was not crispy.
Fries were decent. Nachos looked good, and while I didn't eat them, the people that did seemed to enjoy them. I did enjoy all the police patches along the walls.
