Went to G-Love for dinner with friends and it was overall a really good experience.
The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
We ordered “The Works” where they prepare a dining experience for you, which I do think is the way to go here, especially if you have a larger group like we did (6 people).
The menu is small plates, so ordering this way everyone got to try each course.
We really liked the fried chicken and the blackened albacore.
I knocked off one star because I didn’t feel that we were wowed by any particular dish.

One of the best restaurant experiences in Portland.
It is relatively easy to start an operate, a protein, heavy restaurant, where you procure good meats, and sear them to order etc.
A vegetable forward restaurant is wildly more difficult with both procurement as well as more difficult technique. First, the cocktails, both their signature, as well as off the menu orders were done flawlessly.
One easy tell to see if a bar staff knows what they’re doing is to request a simple classic daiquiri.
Many are confused and ask you directions for this 3 ingredient drink.
G-love bar staff did not skip a beat. At the end of the meal, when I requested decaf coffee, they brought out a perfectly brewed small French press. We ordered the chef’s section.
All outstanding. We sat in the heated outdoor tents.

First time at G-Love and we had a blast.
Our kids enjoyed the small plate concept and were surprisingly adventurous with food.
Presentation and flavors were on point.
