Just passing by and wanted to try this highly-rated Vietnamese restaurant. However, the experience was quite disappointing. It's not because the food didn't taste good, but because I was treated like a fool. The service was really so-so.The waitress wasn't very professional and gave quite a bit of attitude.I understand it may have been a long day for her, so it's understandable. It definitely wasn't because of her that I rated the service category low.It was because of how I was treated after I ordered lemongrass chicken. I know what lemongrass tastes like and what the texture is.I couldn't see or taste any lemongrass in the dish.Another waitress came out and looked at me like I don't know what I ordered, picked up the spoon, stirred around the dish, and said, 'Look, that's lemongrass chopped really fine, and that's why you don't see it.' I've had that dish many, many times and made it myself at home before. If you use fresh lemongrass, there's no way that you can chop it so fine that you can't taste the texture, even if you puree it in a super fine blender. As a restaurant, if you can't serve the food on the menu, then don't put it on the menu. And don't treat your customers like a fool and tell them a clear lie. I'm sure if someone who's never had lemongrass chicken would have been fine with their lie.I guarantee you that they did not use even a gram of lemongrass in that dish.I still give the food category a 3-star because despite that they clearly weren't serving what they said they were serving, I think the overall taste of the dishes is ok.Or maybe it was because I was super hungry.🤷🏻♂️
Any account holders that rate(d) this place <5 stars should have their reviewing privileges revoked! Hands-down some of the most PHENOMENAL Vietnamese food I’ve ever eaten. Also, if you absolutely HATE tofu, I highly recommend the Tofu-on-a-Stick —you’ll change your mind 🤯 Solid Vietnamese Coffee too —ordered it hot.
This having been our first time eating here, we seriously underestimated the amount of food we were going to get.The menu had so many delicious sounding items that we ordered several dishes. The portion sizes are huge! The only thing not huge was the mini Vegi Eggrolls, because they are supposed to be tiny, adorable little snacks of fried goodness and they succeeded in that goal. That being said, it was still a good sized Appetizer portion. The Tofu on a Stick was unlike any other Tofu Appetizer we have ever had.It is Tofu wrapped in Noodles, fried, and served with a dipping sauce. So fancy, crunchy, and so delicious! The Vietnamese Pancake was HUGE, fluffy, and filled with delightful chunks of Tofu and Veggies. They bring you Lettuce, Mint, and Cilantro to wrap around the Eggrolls and Pancake, which really adds a lovely contrast of flavors, textures, and freshness. The Asparagus and Mushrooms were cooked perfectly and in a delicious sauce. The Vermicelli and Tofu had a Curry Sauce, Veggies, and Peanuts. It was also amazing.Every dish was perfectly cooked and the flavors beautifully balanced. The server was a bit off standish at first, but she warmed up as things went along. She gave us excellent recommendations and brought the food to us very quickly. It is a small place, so we were glad we went between busy hours, as we can see it filling up quickly. The entire back side of the menu is Vegetarian! It was so refreshing to have choices. We loved every single dish we got and look forward to trying everything on the Vegetarian menu in the future.
