I have visited The Cat Shack a couple of times now. Here is my honest opinion.Proud representation of Black Businesses. The food is always hot and fresh. The Cajun Fries are the best around! The fish doesn’t taste like farm raised catfish or the most premium cut.The lemonade is good but overpriced at $5 a cup… and the cup it comes in is not nearly the size as the one displayed on the menu but they only have one size and fill it up with mostly ice.A drink, fries, and sandwich will run you well over $20 a person for lunch.Staff could be more welcoming to guests walking in, a smile or menu recommendation goes a long way with the overall experience.Overall, this place is a treat or reward after a hard work week but not the largest bang for your buck.
Absolutely amazing!!! From the moment you walk in, you feel at home. They take care of you like you are a guest in their own home. We had the most tender cat fish filets we have ever had, and they were served with some golden brown hush puppies. We aldo enjoyed the house made strawberry lemonade!
First time trying and loved it ! The outside and inside is very clean and well put together. It’s cute to eat in and has enough room.Good amount of menu items as well to choose from.We got the bang bang catfish sandwich and the mixed 6 piece basket. The catfish is super tender and fresh.I’ve had some rubbery catfish in the past or some that taste older. This one was great.Just enough seasoning on it.the special sauce is very good as well.We tried the sweet potato fries and hope to try their loaded fries soon.woman at front and chef were super nice and attentive. You can tell they really want to give you a good dining experience. Also I went in when there was a rude man complaining about the prices and saying how “were in the hood now”.Sir this is not your typical oak cliff catfish spot just go somewhere else if you can’t afford it..lol
