We used to compare other ramen we’ve had to this restaurant but sadly, it’s not the same quality as it used to be.
Ramen was so salty, we couldn’t finish it and only took 2 bites.
The chirashi bowl was just rice and sashimi; didn’t taste that fresh and was at room temperature or on the warmer side but rice wasn’t even hot to warm up the sashimi.
Their bathroom was absolutely disgusting and overall cleanliness is questionable.
We paid and left without eating… Service would have received a better rating if staff acknowledge that food wasn’t touched and asked if everything was OK, but they didn’t even bother.

Exclusive restaurant, make reservations in advance.

Compact Rice Village-area restaurant serving up affordable Japanese fare Food: The food is OK and pretty good when considering the price point and location.
I’ve enjoyed their ramens, chasudon 2.0, and karaage (fried chicken).
I wouldn’t recommend their sushi - the seaweed is soggy and the rice doesn’t have the taste / texture of fresh sushi rice. Value: one of Tamashi’s best selling points! Food is extremely affordable with most entrees around ~$10 - $15. Service: Host and servers are friendly Location: The front parking lot is usually full but there’s plenty of street parking around short walk away.
Tamashi is the best Japanese restaurant around the Rice area.
