Good food, great atmosphere and service. We ordered seafood dishes, twin pepper chicken and homing tofu. All dishes tasted great and really liked the pepper spice in the Dan Dan noodles. The only comment is the dishes are quite greasy. And there are barely any health friendly dishes.Overall a good place for a fun lunch or dinner with friends for tasty (but oily) sichuan food.
Greasy veggie spring rolls and dumplings. Orange beef pretty good but not enough to return for. Strange tables. Hit knee twice trying to exit booth. Service was the strange thing. Went in around 2pm and staff was more interest in eating their lunch at a large round table rather than waiting on customers. Just strange….Won’t return.
Cooking Girl on Holcombe Blvd.is a true gem for those of us who work in the Texas Medical Center. While not my favorite location (that honor goes to their original Montrose restaurant), having this as a nearby option is amazing. To kick off this Christmas weekend I ordered Whatafish, Eggplant Loves Green Beans, Lotus Pond To Fry, and a pot of Chrysanthemum Tea.That is a ton of food and I could never finish it alone. The best part is packing up my leftovers to share with the family for the next few days.Service could've been better, my waiter started eating lunch with his colleagues and never brought me water, but the food was fresh and delicious, so it didn't bother me.Ambience could be better, but I only come here for lunch, so that's fine by me.Try the Montrose location for dinner. All things considered, Cooking Girl on Holcombe is highly recommended!
