Tried this place after many great reviews and I will say it was good.Great location walking distance from our hotel. The service was excellent didn’t have to wait long at all.Our server was very good and friendly. The food was good very different I might add.I just did not get the hype of the queso flamado at all.It was literally a chunk of cheese that I had to use a knife to cut literally broke all chips. The salsa for me was the saving grace with very fresh ingredients and great flavor. The huge burrito was mostly rice but was very flavorful.I would go back to try other menu items for sure.
I left very satisfied and with confidence I’d be returning. Fresh ingredients, bright colors and flavors.I had the tilapia tacos, and would have them again. Service was great, efficient and friendly.Atmosphere was cozy, and brightly decorated.I felt the whole vibe was cohesive. We ate lunch on a Thursday, and was in and out in less than 45 minutes.
Excellent Ecuadorian food.If you haven’t tried it, it’s similar to Mexican dishes you may have had, but with a heavy emphasis on fresh flavorful taste.Entree accoutrements are beans, pickled onions, brined cucumber slices, and rice. The building is unique and historic. The inside setting is artistically decorated with Ecuadorian and other Latin American art.Everything is beautifully appointed. The restaurant features a bar upstairs and has reserved party seating accommodating up to 100 people or so upstairs. I had the Camarones al mojo.Everything was fresh and had a great garlic flavor.I got an unsweetened tea. They use a raspberry flavored base.I also got a dirty gin martini that was extraordinarily clean tasting.I also had the queso blanco as an appetizer which was fantastic. The menu will be familiar with anyone that frequents Mexican or Latin American dishes. The manager/host and servers and everyone were extraordinary friendly and explained the history of the restaurant. The only issue most people may have is the portion size. It’s about 70% of what you’d get at a typical Mexican restaurant (I may have ordered the lunch special by mistake). It’s perfect for lunch, but may merit an additional dessert for dinner. The drink menu is separate, and didn’t have beers listed. Overall a tremendous and unique find. You won’t be disappointed.
