I ordered catfish with greens and macaroni and cheese. The greens were legit and the macaroni and cheese was good too! The catfish came out piping hot so that was nice (taste good too). I also ordered some peach cobbler which did not disappoint. I was hoping to try the red velvet but they didn't have any. I'm glad I finally made it here because I've been wanting to try this place for a minute now. The only negative thing I have to say is that they seriously need to upgrade their upholstery.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mrs.White's Golden Rule Cafe in Phoenix, Arizona, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the moist and flavorful chicken. Each bite was tender and cooked to perfection, leaving me craving for more. The potato salad and mac and cheese were equally impressive. The potato salad was well-seasoned, with just the right balance of flavors. The mac and cheese had a delightful richness and a great depth of flavor that was truly satisfying. One dish that stood out was the cabbage. It had a slight sweetness to it, which complemented the other flavors on the plate perfectly. The cabbage was cooked to perfection, with a wonderful texture that added a lovely element to the meal. To top it all off, I indulged in the best Louisiana crunch cake. The combination of the crunchy texture and the rich, decadent flavors made it the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Overall, my experience at Mrs.White's Golden Rule Cafe was nothing short of excellent. The chicken, potato salad, mac and cheese, cabbage, and Louisiana crunch cake all exceeded my expectations. If you find yourself in Phoenix, Arizona, I highly recommend visiting this establishment for a truly delicious and satisfying dining experience.
I discovered Mrs.White's Golden Rule Cafe while in town for a conference.A coworker spotted it while exploring, and after reading Mrs.White's story on their website, we we're very excited to go for dinner, even after reading the mixed reviews. We had a great experience. The service was terrific and the food was great. The building is old and run down, but isn't that what makes a place qualify as a hole in the wall? It has its charms and what it lacks in atmosphere it far makes up for in people and soul food.Give this place a chance!
