Reviews

We shared a large platter for three, which had fish, chicken, and lamb.
Absolutely delicious. Super friendly service.
The place got packed with locals at 6pm on Wednesday.
It was pretty awesome.

Thank you

It was nice to experience a different cuisine and culture.
It looked like everyone who hangs out here were really close and are regulars.
The food is served like cafeteria style so it wasn't as fresh as I was hoping for since all the other reviews talked greatly about the food.
The chicken itself was very dry and did need to be seasoned more.
I wasn't impressed with the lamb shank it looked like it was boiled so it made it unpleasant to eat.
With that being said the lamb shank was bland.
I did think the rice, veggies, and the split peas were tasty.
The samosas did not have any crunch to them but I did think the filling was good.
The highlight of the dinner was actually the black tea, it had so much flavor and warmth I could drink that every day.

“Somali beeen weey sheegta laakin been maku maah maahdo” is a famous Somali proverb which means Somalis may lie but they never lie with proverbs. - The crepe/bread with honey was great. I was the only gringo in the place with lots of Somali chatter, and they made me feel welcome. The ambiance is as real as it gets.
