There are not many options for something to eat late-night in downtown Charlotte. Cool retro diner looks from the outside but should have been leary when two police cars parked outside (with cops inside), plus security in the lobby (with hand-held metal detector). Menu was pretty diverse with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and southern options.
It was admittedly challenging to find narrow down the options. Admittedly, the service never left me in need of anything, although not personable.
Think I was in-between shift change. My medium-rare steak (with eggs) was served raw.
There was no problem bringing it to proper temperature, but the cook should be embarrassed this made it to a customer.
Admittedly, hash browns weirdly were freshly cooked and delicious. Won't fault this place for the surrounding environment.
But this will not merit another visit up my next trip to Charlotte.
The bathroom was gross, too.

I can't remember the young man's name that served my family and myself.
It was friday night, 4/12/24, but he provided excellent service.
The food was excellent.
Between my family and myself, we all either had the chicken and waffles, or the shrimp and grits.
All of the food was on point.
It was an overall great experience, the only issue was that the section where we were seated was located directly under the ac unit and it was leaking from the condensation.. If it wasn't for the sanitary concerns about that water dripping and splashing on the food while someone was eating, I wouldn't even mention it because other than that , the entire experience was great, which is why I still will give them 4 overall👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

First time eating here.
It turned out to be a pleasant surprise! Our server, Ares, was very helpful and provided excellent service.
The food itself was tasty and the provided sides were plentiful in their amount.
The decor reminded us of a 50s diner and was clean and shiny.
We are looking forward to going back and trying their breakfast 😊
