Enjoyed dinner before the Hornets game and I was transported back to my grandmother’s kitchen.
I loved the atmosphere because the restaurant is snuggled in a busy area but you forget as soon as you walk in.
Parking is highly suggested in the Wake Forest parking deck.
It’s a short walk from there.
Otherwise, you can valet. You’re greeted by a welcoming host who will seat you and get your drink order immediately.
I ordered the Shrimp Creole with Rice and Cornbread.
Fell.In.LOVE.
The portion size is perfect and there was room for dessert.
So, of course I ordered dessert.
I had a slice of red velvet cake and the presentation was everything! (pictured below) Needless to say, I will definitely be back to enjoy a home cooked meal.

Mert’s is a definite stop when your in Charlotte.
We were impressed with the outstanding service and amazing food.
I would have had pictures of the best Mac N chez ever, outstanding collards, perfectly cooked catfish, shrimp Creole and creamy rice, cornbread, salmon cakes, etc, etc, but it looked so good we just ate and ate!!!! Seriously awesome food, what are you waiting for go there now!! You Won’t Be Disappointed!

This spot was right around the corner from my hotel so I stopped for a late lunch.
I think I got the last table in the whole establishment.
The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was good.
But baby, the food was everything.
If you are allergic to season, this is not the place for you.
If you are allergic to flavor, this is not the place for you.
From first to last bite, everything was phenomenal.
