Soul food restaurant
The food was outstanding!!! The oxtails over rice and gravy was seasoned to perfection. The greens tasted like they were cooked by somebody grandma and the cornbread muffins ain't no Jiffy Mix.The Mac-n-Cheese delicious! I normally can drive and eat but that was not possible with this meal. The restaurant looks beat down but the food superior soul food.I will definitely be going back soon!
This place is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! The food, the customer service, the establishment, EVERYTHING! And it pains me to say this about a âBlack Ownedâ establishment but Iâm over giving passes! It took 15 minutes for my wife's order to arrive and when it finally did, the fish was undercooked! My food arrived relatively quickly and I did my best to stomach it down but my wife wanted a refund. They wouldnât even entertain the option! We spent over $50.00 for this garbage! We do our BEST to support âOURâ businesses and this was our 3rd and LAST time! JUST OXTAILS IS AWFUL! Run for the hills!
The first time I went to this place back in 2006, I got sick! When I went in there about 5 days ago, I tried the catfish plate, and it was pretty good, salty, but it was still good. The cornbread was dry.The greens were good but very salty. The macaroni looked like it was colored and tasted strange, like chicken stock, not cheese.I guess they are trying a healthier recipe.I didn't try any desserts. They weren't friendly and welcoming, I was the only customer in line, so they just haven't bothered with being welcoming other than to say "welcome" without trying to make eye contact or smile.Try the food, see if you like it.Don't go in there with dietary restrictions! The greens have meat.Parking lot is large, but rough!
