Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint Birmingham

This was my manyth visit to Jack Brown's, and it's always as good as expected.
Last night we stopped in late after seeing Black Joe Louis at Saturn.
It was pretty busy in there for a Sunday night, but we were seated right away and service was quick.
We got a Greg Brady, an Elvis and a Cowboy.
French fries and sweet potato fries to share.
Everything was really good and we devoured it all.

Ok… burgers.
There are so many places that just don’t get it.
The meat shouldn’t be the star, it need to pair perfectly with the toppings, because the toppings are what provide the Variety.
Too much meat? Not good.
Too many toppings, not good either.
There needs to be a purpose and a mission to the burger and its accoutrements.
I was traveling thru Birmingham and accidentally ran across this eclectic joint.

Seriously.
If this type of decor tickles your fancy, then so will the burgers! The flavor and seasoning of the meat, the simplicity of the complex toppings… I mean, this place gets it! You can get a double, but why would you? Next time I’m in Birmingham, I’m coming back!

This is only the second time I have been in this restaurant but that was before COVID hit.
It still has a friendly staff, good food, and a great dive bar atmosphere.
There is an upstairs bar which is covered and if I had known that I would have sat upstairs.
There is an upcharge for fries, which I was surprised as I thought it only pertained to the sweet potato fries.
I will definitely be back to try a different burger and some of the great beers on tap and in the cooler.
