Five Guys

I am extremely disappointed and will try a different 5 guys location before I finalize my decision but it's not looking good. It had been a couple years since I had gone to my local 5 guys which I always loved and felt the value was fair.

So when working in overland and needing a good hardy meal after a long day and preparing for another long day I thought 5 guys would be perfect. Like I said it had been a few years and I know prices have gone up but I was still shocked by how much theirs seemed to have increased.

I ordered their biggest burger and a medium fries.
When the employee was handing me my food too go in a paper sack I noticed he was nervously eyeing the bag as if the bottom might give way all of a sudden.
First bad sign.

I took the bag with my hand moving underneath to check the risk of such.
Didn't seem to horrible so I made for the door.
Like all normal humans as soon as I got outside the door I reached in feeling for some delicious hot fresh french fries.
A game of hot and cold wasn't on the menu you tho and when I finally got hold of one it was hard and small.
Being very hungry I went ahead and ate it and grabbed several more this time and ate those..

🤮 They were terrible.
Like they had been cooked way too long in old oil.
I started to inspect the order of fries I had received.
Near the entire order was in this condition.
I have never seen such horrid looking and tasting fries.
So after a minute or so standing outside I went in and asked for a replacement which they did not hesitate to oblige and they proceeded to make a new order fresh.
I inspected the fresh order and while they still looked suspect they seem mile better than before and they have me a larger quantity.
They get a couple points for trying to make it right but in the end the fries just still weren't good and I didn't end up eating many. Sadly the burger also was soggy and severally lacking flavor.
Between cheese and bacon and 2 patties I don't know how this is possible but they have managed to achieve it. Aftering writing all this it is probably the last time I will ever enter a 5 guys.
I hope they right their ship for their faithful patrons before they are all gone.

Intresting how they have recognition around the world...took my son and grandson to the Olathe KS.location ordered 2 double case brgrs an they gave a mushy mushroom burger instead of the case brgr,we had to ask for our cups to get drinks(that was bought with meal) definitly not all the hype that they are recognized for ....didn't like that the tip was included when paying,Bill was $48,small shake included...first time here an last....

When it comes to burger joints, Five Guys stands out with its high-quality ingredients and delicious taste that never fail to impress.
The burgers are consistently juicy and flavorful, and the wide variety of fresh toppings allows for a personalized experience every time.
The fries? They're a golden, crispy delight, generously portioned and perfect for sharing.
However, it's hard to ignore the elephant in the room – the prices.
Recently, a visit to Five Guys means digging deeper into your wallet, with costs that can make you hesitate before walking through the door.
The price hike has been significant, and while I understand this might be a corporate-level decision, it doesn't make it any less disappointing for us patrons.
It's a real shame because it means I'll have to limit my visits, reserving Five Guys for the occasional treat rather than a regular indulgence.
I want to make it clear that I don't blame the local franchises.
They're doing their best, providing excellent service and maintaining the quality that we've come to expect.
But at the end of the day, the steep prices are a deterrent, and I can't help but feel a twinge of disappointment that something I love is now just out of comfortable reach.
