We had a lovely brunch at Davani Enoteco. We used to come here often when my son was at UCSD, and were pleased to find that it is still open. And it’s wonderful. Our favorite is the Focaccia with Italian cheese and honey.Delicious and just how we remember it.We all had an egg dish and they were all perfectly cooked. And we also shared a pizza.Hey, we were hungry after a long morning hike.Great service.Plenty of free parking.A wonderful stop not far from the highway.
Owner response
Thank you Joyce! I'm glad you came back it was all as you left it.Hopefully we see you again soon.:)
Love their Happy Hour menu.Food is pretty good and it's a great deal for HH.Have to sit in the bar area but there were plenty of tables, all high tops.We did make a reservations. We like getting their special of $28 for a nice charcuterie board with a bottle of house wine. Also recommend the ricotta with honey, the liver pate, margherita pizza, and bruschettas off the HH menu. The food off the regular menu is also very good.We really like the ragu with creamy polenta dish.
This place has a nice vibe and the staff is friendly, but the whole experience was messed up because everything's so expensive and the food isn't great. We were a group of ten and tried different things, but nothing hit the spot. The sea bass was bland and weirdly watery, and the pizzas and pastas were just not up to par in terms of freshness and taste. They've got a good selection of wine, but seriously, turning a $22 bottle into $70? That's a bit much. And then they hit us with a $30 charge for cake service, a price that felt excessive and would have been appreciated if communicated upfront. These problems overshadow the restaurant’s positives. So, I don't recommend this place.
