First time trying, you have to pay to park ($16-25) before you enter the restaurant. It was open seating with only 2 other couples at tables so I figured service would be quick. The mixed drink came out quickly, there was a slight delay in receiving the draft beer then the bottle. Finally received a warm bottle of beer, we had to ask for a glass of ice. Guests came in and ordered after us and got their meals and drinks before we did.Food was pretty good.Kept it simple with a burger and shrimp po-boy.
Fried green tomatoes, red beans and rice, collard greens, fried chicken (there was a feather left on one of the wings), and the gumbo were delicious! I came with a couple of friends and we enjoyed several dishes. The shrimp and grits and shrimp etouffee were also good.I'm definitely going back for brunch! Great place!
Located in Deep Ellum, I was excited to see a new restaurant rather than just another bar.Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The service was fantastic and my cocktail was nice and strong. However, the food was mid at best. I ordered: Fried shrimp (it was bland and dry - I’ve actually never had dry fried shrimp); green beans (these were decent, had a little spice; macaroni (me and my colleague both agreed it was not good); and lastly, & hush puppies (these were decent). My food was about $30.I don’t feel like it was worth it and I don’t plan on going back. There’s food at other establishments in Deep Ellum far better.
