When you walk in it smells like a cross between my Grandma’s house when she used moth balls to store her clothes and the ocean.
You walk up the stairs and you are greeted by some really nice people.
The staff is always great here.
I like the ambiance.
We enjoy the view of the palm trees in the window from the main dining area or sitting in the bar area or on the deck.
The food it pretty good.
The oysters rock is good - they use fondue cheese and it doesn’t have that crusted layer of cheese on the top is my only complaint.
The surf and turf tacos are really good.
They have a little flavor “kick” not overly spicy but a little heat.
I forgot to name of the dessert but it was also good.
Oreo cookie crust with coffee ice cream- the coffee flavor is mild almost absent - just like I like it.
It’s a good option for brunch, lunch or dinner on Shelter Island.

The food was great.
Our server is not so great.
It was a Friday night, and he definitely wasn't at work but on his phone.
Even the table next to us felt neglected.
BUT all the managers were so wonderful when I let them know.
The management was so quick to acknowledge my concerns.
I appreciate that.
As it was a celebration for my mom, I felt I picked the wrong place and should have gone somewhere else that might have been nicer to my mom on her birthday trip.
My mom and I enjoyed our GIANT fish and chips dinners.
I did need a few extra things, but our waiter was hard to find, and my food got cold while waiting for him.
After a while, i decided i guess i didn't need lemons.
I had creme brulee for dessert, and my mom enjoyed her enormous slice of mud pie.

I’ve been here several times and mostly for their happy hour menu.
The items on that menu have declined in both offerings and taste.
With my last visit being a low point.
The reason I’m recommending then is for their regular menu, which is fantastic.
Loved their Cobb salad and the Salmon.
Skip the happy hour menu and you will be much more appreciative of their food.
