Stumbled into Bay Leaf while on a road-trip from New Orleans to Cleveland with my mother - and we couldn’t have been more satisfied with our split-second dinner decision.
Each dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and unique, often with underlying similarities to traditional northern Indian dishes we were familiar with and fond of, but with wonderful twists in flavors, spicing, execution, and presentation.
Every member of the staff was so kind and welcoming, offering us suggestions and insight about their immensely creative menu.
The atmosphere and aesthetics inside perfectly complemented the inviting nature of the staff and made for an even more lovely experience.
Can’t recommend this place enough - if you’re in Birmingham, you must go!

OK this place is an amazing restaurant.
It is the bomb.
And I ate off the $15 lunch buffet!!! The food here is the very best Indian food I have ever had. It's stupid good.

Bayleaf never fails to be great.
The atmosphere feels cozy with so many warm colors and lights.
The service is attentive and the food is amazing.
I’ve tried several drinks from their signature menu and always have been impressed.
I appreciate they had pride flags up, as well.
