If there's a bar in New Orleans that feels like Hogwarts--this is it.
The ambience of place is just perfect And it's hard not to love a fireplace.
The location is easy to get to right off of Royal and it's one of the places we always visit.
Is the right combination of quality food and quality cocktails that just brings you back.

I stopped in with fellow Writers during the New Orleans Writing Marathon on a chilly Saturday. Backspace Bar & Kitchen was such a sweet and cozy spot with comfy booths enough for a group, a real wood-burning fireplace, and the ghosts of literary legends.
I can see myself coming back and spending time here. I had the Spicy Honey Chicken Burger that completely distracted me from my writing! It was delicious and could be a little more spicy! These fratboys at the bar asked me to take their picture and there they are.

After finding out my hotel bar was closed until the summer (?), I took a walk and came across this small bar with unassuming signage. Great selection of beers and drinks, at reasonable prices. Vibe and ambiance is brick, wood, and leather seats.
The textbook definition of unpretentious. Staff is polite and helpful, and have fun chatting with patrons, be they regulars or first-timers. I know I will visit other bars in my short time here in NOLA, but this one is definitely getting at least one repeat visit before I go.
