Felix's Restaurant & Oyster Bar

Delicious food, great service, enjoyable decor, and reasonable prices! We arrived about 30 minutes before they were closing, and there was a line.
Their staff found a way to fit us all in just in time to put in our orders before the kitchen closed. This was our first night in New Orleans and we hadn't eaten all day so we ordered a lot of food so we could take some back to our hotel room. Appetizer - Char grilled oysters - tender and just delicious, well seasoned. Main courses - My husband ordered the bayou sampler and the fried fish with extra hush puppies instead of the fries.
He loved everything in the sampler - red beans & rice, jambalaya, and crawfish Etoufee.
The fish platter tasted fresh, crispy, and well seasoned.
The hush puppies were delicious.
We always order hush puppies when available at a restaurant.
These were a bit smaller than what we are used to locally in Florida.
They had a higher cornmeal % and I believe there were jalapeno pieces in them, again, absolutely delicious.
I ate his coleslaw for him and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the shrimp Po Boy and again it was just delicious.
The shrimp were well seasoned and crispy.
The bread was soft but had a crispy exterior.
I'm determined to figure out the recipe for the fried shrimp.

Whenever we visit New Orleans, Felix's is our first visit.
My husband and I particularly enjoy their oysters, available both raw and grilled.
Their po'boys are also delicious.
It's a must-visit for us every time.

The server was very attentive.
Once we got him to the table.
there was a weight of about 5 minutes for him to get there.
he quickly took our drink orders and then brought the food very fast.
The turtle soup was very thick and needy.
But I was very surprised they didn't offer me Sherri.
after asking someone else.
They reply that the waiter must have forgotten it..
My wife and I shared the stuffed red fish and it was excellent.
The shrimp appetizer had very large shrimp, almost the size of prawns. The reason for marking the atmosphere down is that it is very loud in there.
adding acoustic panels would help a lot.
also, not seating 4 people next to a large party of 12 that are pretty loud when there are numerous other tables open much further away from them would be a really good idea.
