Great food.We got seat quite quickly on Friday night without a reservation.Ordered spicy chicken 辣子鸡 and boiled beef 水煮牛肉.Both are very delicious. No complaints on the food. The seating can get a bit crowded, but we are in downtown SF, so that’s expected. The only thing is that we wanted to enjoy our tea a bit more, but was told to leave because there were people waiting.Seemed a little rude, but understandable as Chinese restaurants aren’t known for the services.Hence 5 star food, 3 star service, and 4 star atmosphere.

Thank you very much for your kind review!
First, above all, the food was fantastic.Had reservations for Christmas, got there and they didn't have us.Luckily I had my confirmation and we were Sat fairly quickly. They were of course very busy.If you want duck, you do need to order in advance. We didn't.Everything was good except the hot and sour soup which was fine but not great. They did put cilantro in a bunch of the food which Chinese restaurants usually don't so if you are adverse like me, make sure you remember to tell them not to. Luckily I could pick it out.Stand outs were the spicy beef with pancakes and the Dan Dan noodles

Having been listed on the Michelin guide every year since 2012 and also visited by President Obama, this place has been pretty hyped up as one of the best places to get authentic Sichuan 🥵🌶️ cuisine, so I knew I had to give it a try! By far, the spicy eggplant with garlic sauce ($15) was the best thing I tried, and one of the better tasting eggplant dishes I’ve had recently, with the authentic Sichuan heat and flavor.Other things I tried included the Spicy Dumplings ($11.95) and the Flaming Clay Pot with Beef ($24.95).Both items were also very good and authentic-tasting, but I honestly thought that the rest of the menu was a little overpriced - probably due to all the hype surrounding the place, as there’s definitely other places in SF area you can get authentic Sichuan food for a lower price.Overall I’d say that some of the food is definitely worth trying at least once and I would go back for the eggplant alone, but not somewhere I would frequent regularly. The service was also a bit slow.
