While the slice of cheese pizza at Tomato Jake’s was pretty good, I decided to also try the tenders appetizer and they were a bit underwhelming to say the least.
They are thin, and I believe I got 6-7 tenders for 10$, which seems to be a bit costly considering the size and quality of the tenders.
I would stick to the pizza, and maybe the salads.
One day I might go back and try the pasta, but the tenders were a no from me.

$10 for 7 tenders actually a great value considering what other places charge for fewer...BUT I agree they should have been prepared better and never underwhelming.
Our pastas and salads are huge and delish.

In search of the perfect pizza pie, I came upon Tomato Jake's while training in Durham. I ordered a small pizza and wings.
When I went to pick it up, I had to wait a lil longer because it wasn't ready yet.
After about 10 mins, I was informed that they accidentally made an XL pizza instead of a small, so they gave me the pizza for free....Sir, you got yourself a deal.🫱🏾‍🫲🏼 The pizza was fresh and the toppings of pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and banana peppers were tasty.
The dough was soft and the sauce was good too.
The wings were saucy and meaty, just the way I like em. The joint was jumping when I went inside due to it being trivia night. This is definitely a spot to grab some good food and even chill at.

I've eaten at Tomato Jakes many times.
The pizza and salad is consistently good and the service has been great for me.
I like the atmosphere indoors and they have nice outdoor seating.
Prices are very reasonable for what I order.
