Italian restaurant, American restaurant
Brought my daughter into Chicago for her birthday and had a great meal and experience here at the Italian Village. It's the oldest restaurant in Chicago. We even got to sit in the Al Capone table..The food was delicious and the service was spot on
The food was very good but the price was high for the portion size for some items. For example, I got the agnolotti which was a stuffed pasta, kind of like a ravioli but a half moon shape and overall the same size as a ravioli. There were five on my plate with sauce. Nothing else with it other than a small side salad and it was $29. They do provide unlimited bread which we had a lot of and it was very good (unfortunately we did not take a pic of it).
We arrived to our reservation earlier than expected, and the staff worked promptly to still seat us right away. Our waitress was kind, respectful, and attentive. We ordered pizza bread, gnocchi con salsiccia, and chicken Parmesan. Each our entrees came with either a soup or salad.Everything was absolutely delicious! We drank some delicious espresso martinis as well. They were also quick to give us more bread service, the bread was fresh and warm. The ambiance is intimate and lively.I can’t wait to return to The Village!
