I don't know how this place was rated as one of the best. The burger had barely any flavor despite being half onion. We asked for a side of green chile and got a cup of warmed up salsa. Makes sense that the place was filled with a total of 6 people (that's counting the employees) when we went during lunch on a weekend. Not much in the way of service since all they do is bring out the food after you order at the counter.Walk up to the bar if you want a refill for your meal! Worth skipping!
The customer service was top-notch! Friendly, fast yet accurate. We dined in after running a few errands. We had passed this spot several times and decided we would go in and try the food.Glad we did.The seating is limited inside as far as tables but there is a bar with room for those opting to dine in.There's also outside seating however the weather wasn't permissible. Our food was really good, we tried the Onion burgers, and they were well done to perfection. The gentleman behind the counter brought our drinks to our table even though we were close enough to get them.Wanna say refills are free BTW.We were asked if we needed our drinks refilled and how our food was after our meal.My only complaint ( if that ) it's not really clean. The table had a little debris and the floors were dirty.Perhaps it was the time we caught them.Even with that I highly recommend this place. For three people it totaled up to around thirty-eight dollars which isn't bad, especially in this economy.A full-size fries ( which are amazing ) fed everyone with leftovers. We will definitely make a few more returns.
And now we come to the Green Line Grill. I wasn't actually intending to try this place out.It just didn't look to be a high quality restaurant. Then I had an hour to spare between clients and the Green Line Grill was in between.Just enough time for lunch. I recognized the building as where the Zodiac comedy club used to be.I performed a stand up there once.I wasn't good, but I do remember handling a drunk heckler well enough to entertain the crowd.Overall it was a positive memory. This burger experience was not that. There were people at two other small tables when I stepped inside.Pretty slow.Dive bar with tables. Not the type of spot I would feel like bringing my kids to.Seemed to be a spot for drifters, motorcycle groups, and veterans, at it looked to have some of each. This place had the vibe of a VFW. Not much to look at, but then the Zodiac was the same way too.I ordered at the bar and sat at a nearby table. My $11 burger eventually arrived. The bun and onions were both burnt.Fries were cooked in dirty oil and I didn't finish them. The patty itself tasted good. It's just that the food was left alone too long to burn, and the fryer oil isn't getting replaced often enough. It could be a spot you stop off at to get something as a last resort.I had some tummy upsetness later that day, but no throwing up.(Can you tell I'm a dad?) Maybe the cook is new, or had an off day.The atmosphere however is not my jam, and I'm definitely not expecting quality here. Green Line Grill, this has been fun, but I really must be going.
