The experience of the cafe was really nice. They have a large selection of food items to choose from-fried fish, crab legs, I believe I saw a child with a hot dog, cakes, pies, cookies etc.A plate of two pieces of chicken (dark meat only) with one or two sides is a little over $20.Desserts are about $5.85 and up.The greens reminded me of the Glory greens brand. The Mac and cheese is ok but lacks cheese. The banana pudding was really nice and I enjoyed it because it was full of banana flavor with no bananas. There is plenty of seating.Staff were very friendly. It’s very expensive but I think worth trying.
Stopped in while at the museum.I was very impressed with the braised pork.It came with sides I got the coconut rice & okra as well as the curry chickpeas. My partner got the spinach and rice along with sweet potato pie. The pork is excellent, a bit greasy and the okra rice has mild coconut flavor that goes great with the pork. The curry chickpeas are full of flavor. The spinach is a bit slimy but tasted okay and the sweet potato pie was good too. Overall solid—about $25/plates after drinks.
My fiancee and mother in-law dined her over the weekend during the cherry blossom festival. The wait to order our food and be seated was long but to be expected as the museum itself was very crowded .I ordered the fried chicken, collard greens and mac& cheese ( my fiancee ordered the same). My mother in law ordered the fried fish, rice&gravy and potatoe salad. Everything was a 10/10 especially the hot sauce !!!
