Astoundingly great food, atmosphere and staff.I was greeted properly and immediately! Food was 10 of 10 highly recommended.Vegan eats â
Today I went in for some roti and they didnât have because itâs a weekday.so I tried the rice and peas, stew chicken and Macaroni and cheese.Boy when I tell you they sold me spoiled rice and peas I was dumbfounded, No Trinidadian would make that and sell that rice and peas thatâs just 100%.So I went back to switch out my rice and let them know the rice was spoil. The owner and chef came to the front saying itâs not âthat just the smellâ I damn near begged him to just try it for my own sanity, this man tries it and says itâs fine. That when I knew this place was over with đ sadly tbh.The owner had a really bad attitude and got offended that I came back and was letting him know âhey youâll loose customer if you sell that riceâ because me I know there arenât many Trinidadian spots that are close, being Trinidadian myself I was happy there was one close by, pretty much he got defensive and kept saying I had bad taste ⌠mind you this is like the 3rd time Iâve been there this month alone.Tbh Iâd hope if I came in respectfully theyâd hear me out because I did like the some of the food prior to this. The roti and double are ok for the area but get soggy .Thereâs usually a lady âMommyâ who is usually there when I go and she is very sweet and welcoming but that owner is rude I wonât suggest eating here.If you donât believe after this ..try the rice and peas đ¤ˇđžââď¸.Oh also I tipped âŚ.Waste of money.Guess American Popeyes it is lol Yâall stay safe
Vegan trini food.I was in the mood for jerk chicken but that place didnât open up so we came down the street to here.I called to check that they were open. For 13 bucks, I got jerk chicken (not spicy) and two sides. The server said that callaloo is like spinach.Itâs stewed collards. The food is plentiful and good. The AC was broken when we got in.We were given a free portion of pholari (Pollari?) which is fried dough balls with a Indian style spicy pickle. It was yummy. The counter of prepared food had many vegan options. While we ordered, a man picked up trays of food for a catered event. The man who served us had a particular casual style that some might find too personal. He then served us one at a time. Visiting Georgia avenue is a different cultural experience.
