Vietnamese restaurant, Takeout restaurant, Sandwich shop
Recently moved into a brick and motar location from the food truck they've had for the past 10 years.Came on a Thursday at 2pm and the lunch rush was just starting to wind down.Service was super friendly, helpful, and seemed to really love the place.Food was amazing with the veggies tasting fresh and the meat wonderfully marinated and grilled. Not that long of a wait either. Each Bun bowl came with a side ramekin of spices in fish sauce that wasn't spicy and a bottle of spicy garlic chili sauce per table. Also love that the vegetarian options are full proper dishes and not just a filler substitute nor overpriced. (The diners on the side all got the Tofu Bun and were full of complements.) The place is cute and homey with wooden tables and Iron Chef playing on the TV inside and picnic benches with umbrellas outside. There is a small parking lot sized appropriately for the capacity of the restaurant.(If the lot is full, there's likely a wait for tables.) Would recommend!
Highly recommend checking this place out.Amazing taste and great value. You even get a free Sapporo beer when you buy food – not sure how long this goes for though. Food: I got the corn ribs, Lamb Banh Mi, and grilled shrimp skewers. All of them were top-notch.All of them were super flavorful and well balanced. The Banh Mi was great as is, but adding their sauce took it up an extra level.I meant to take a picture of each of the dishes, but after eating the first one, I completely forgot because I was so excited to taste the others when they came out. Vibe: The place is casual with a minimalist look.Easygoing and just right for a chill meal out. Service: Big shoutout to the service here. Our server was on the ball – quick with the food, super friendly, and knew exactly what to recommend.Really made the whole experience even better. The menu is great for family style, so I’m planning to come back with a group next time so we can try as much of the menu as we can.Only downside was that they were out of their Ube Tiramisu, but now I’m just more excited for my next visit here.
I'm a creature of habit, so I always order the OG banh mi - and it's my favorite one in all of Austin. So flavorful, and they don't skimp on the pate! Will continue to come here, and definitely interested in trying more items on their expanded menu now that they have this brick and mortar. Also, all their to-go packaging is either biodegradable or upcycled material - another huge plus! We love a sustainable restaurant
