Piroshky Bakery

Borsch is extremely sweet! Piroshky is crispy and tasty.
I got the ham and cheddar.

I used to get borscht here all the time (early2000’s) but it’s been a very long time.
Happen to be at Crossroads and got some borscht and a potato onion piroshky.
The piroshky was nice but I think just slightly underbaked.
The borscht was terrible.
It looked great.
Lots of beets and a beautiful color but it tasted so bad I couldn’t eat it.
It had no beet flavor at all, an awful aftertaste.
I tried adding a bit of ketchup, vinegar and salt but it didn’t help.
I’m not sure what it tasted like but even the bad borscht I’ve had was better than this.
I dumped it after trying 2 more doctored up bites.
I’m not sure if the same people are running this but they need to taste their own borscht.

🕵️‍♂️ Nothing feels better than stumbling upon a hidden treasure.
Especially where you least expect it.
And the place I least expect to find a hidden food gem is, honestly, a food court. Tucked away in a strange, “back-alley-esque” portion of the mall, obscured on all sides by a plethora of Asian inspired kitchens, sits a quaint little bakery with actual babushkas (well, they’re Estonian, so properly “vanaemas”) rolling out the dough, filling the pelmeni and peroshki and vigorously chatting away. The vibe is immaculate.
And the food is *chefs kiss* The highlight food-wise, is in the perfect crispiness of their piroshki and desserts.
