The Pantry may be small, but their menu really stands out.
They have many unique dumpling flavors to try, and honestly, it was a little hard to choose.
They do offer flights where you can try every dumpling, but I decided on the Japanese stew, black garlic mushroom, and loaded potato.
All were phenomenal.
They give you a spicy dipping sauce, and I thought it was delicious, but my wife doesn't like spicy.
She wished there was regular soy on the table.
The pork bao was also out of this world.
Now I'll have to say, this place is PRICEY.
4 dumplings will run you $10.
It's extremely expensive if you plan to fill up on dumplings alone, so sadly, I'm not sure I'd come back.
We spent $50 and basically left still hungry.
It doesn't help that you have to buy bottled drinks, which also adds to the price.

Our food is outstanding! The food absolutely speaks for itself! So a few things: There is the option to have all sauces on the side! So if spice isn't your thing, guess what?!? Ask for it on the side! We also have soy! Asking is key! We don't have any sauces on the table since we are a counter service restaurant.
We always find it interesting when people say we are pricey- we pay our employees livable wages, rent on a highly sought out area like Magnolia is not cheap so in order to stay alive in this economy we have to charge what the food is worth.
That's business.
We have a ton of food options that aren't dumplings.
We also roll every single dumpling by hand-that takes employees to make fillings and to fold them! That's why that are "phenomenal"! No machine rolling or buying them frozen here! Only the freshest and best-thus is pricing.
As far as drinks, we offer a selection of over 15 different types of beverages from all different cultures.
It's the best option for our business.
And we are BYOB.
And we don't blink an eye when someone brings in their Stanley full of their own beverage.
We are pretty flexible that way! We enjoy reviews where we can improve our food or service! Obviously here is just a preference of price and wants.
Running a small local owned business isn't easy or for the faint of heart.

Food is amazing! The short rib pho has wagyu beef broth and the meat just melts like butter in your mouth.
I had the flight card which has 7 different dumplings.
Each was distinct and wonderful.
My wife got the Okonomoyaki and just loves it.
The banana pudding is massive and to die for.
Caramelized banana slices on top which are done with Blackland Distillery brown sugar pecan bourbon whiskey.
I had to eat slowly to actually enjoy it and not just gobble it all down.

The wife and I just happened upon this little place (almost missed it).
Sign on window says “dumplings” and that’s all I needed to know.
First time in and we didn’t know what to get because it all looked good (they have pictures on their screen showing food which is perfect for a visual person).
Sam was extra helpful in helping us make decisions.
We split the dumpling flight and the jambalaya fried rice and some extra chili oil.
The dumplings were so good each with a unique flavor.
Perfect for us who couldn’t decide what to get.
No that we did a taste test, we decided the tamale dumpling and the black garlic mushroom were tied as favorites.
The fried rice was in a league of its own.
So much flavor and enough for two.
Tables are community on one side of the restaurant and small and intimate on the other side.
AND, it’s BYOB which makes this place even better for our next trip.
