Owamni by The Sioux Chef

Went here as a special occasion since everyone I know who loves good food recommended it.
I was not disappointed! The bison steak was my favorite, perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful.
I am huge fan of wild rice so the “true wild rice” with berry based sauce was also up there.
One dish that was surprisingly amazing was what might have at first glance seems to be a basic bean dip, but the acidic flavor was a bit surprising and I found myself going back for a few extra scoops than I had originally planned.
I can’t wait to come back with my partner soon to try more of the menu.

We had an amazing dinner and can’t say enough about the food.
We shared all the dishes.
Our favorites were the bean dip, elk tacos and bison.
I do wish the servers would share a bit more around the history/background of each dish.
I feel it would elevate the dining experience.
We will return when visiting the twin cities.

Our party of 7 had a wonderful time at Owamni! Many of the dishes are shareable or served as small plates you can order as you eat, which encouraged us to order different things we shared with our friends. The corn taco, elk taco, bison taco, and duck breast were favorites at our table. Our server was very helpful and gave a great introduction to the menu and restaurant. We all enjoyed the drinks we had - the white blueberry hot tea was a favorite, the zero proof cocktails were delicious, and the Hobby Farmer Switchel sodas were refreshing. The food was great and the view of the Mississippi River was beautiful. We'll be back seasonally to enjoy Owamni!
