Came for the first time for Restaurant Week and I definitely made a good choice.I really loved the interior- upscale, warm, cozy, low light atmosphere and feels very comfortable.Beautiful decor and seating areas.I didn't feel like I was competing with others or loud music to hear and speak to those at my table, as is the case with some restaurants.We had reservations and were seated only a few minutes after arriving.The staff were very friendly, especially our waitress.She was fun and chatted with us every time she came around, she was also great at touching base with us and getting whatever we needed.The food was great! I had the scallops and risotto; the scallops were a good size and not over cooked and the risotto paired well with them.The lobster bisque was very tasty, and I don't even particularly like tomato.There were good sized pieces of lobster.I highly recommend the berries and bubbles cocktail- one, it's fun because of the dry ice but it's got a great flavor that doesn't taste overwhelming like alcohol.All in all I had a wonderful evening and dinner here with my family during restaurant week and would definitely like to come again.
I have a lot to say about this restaurant.99% good.The one thing I would change is a dimly lite dining area.I associate that atmosphere with a dirty bar.Other then that John was a wonderful waiter with a great personality.He had jokes for days.I have never seen anyone carry 8 glasses in one hand before.He said he can do 12 at once in one hand so maybe next time John.He was also very honest with me about everything.I have never had a waiter tell me exactly why they were out of grouper.He did though.The grouper they had delivered was not to their standards and they refused to accept let alone serve it to their valued customers.Instead he had the chef prepare sea bass the way the grouper was for me.Wonderful fish to say the least.We also got the deviled eggs and sushi.All was fantastic.If you have the money to go I recommend you do a date night here.You won't regret it.Once again John thank you for a very rememberable birthday dinner for my wife and I.
It’s hard to believe there’s negative reviews, our experience was so good! We just tried Ocean Prime and it was all around excellent! We eat out a LOT but live at the south end of Overland Park so we don’t frequent the Plaza often, but wanted to try something new for our anniversary.Our waiter, Ryan, and his sweet assistant, were very attentive and the food arrived well timed.I ordered the Blackened Snapper and it was incredibly delicious!! My husband ordered the Sea Bass and loved it.We both said we would 100% order those meals again.We also had wedge salads which were served super cold and were yummy.For dessert we were so nicely treated to a towering carrot cake with pineapple sauce which was very tasty! As we were dining, we were trying to think of other places we’ve eaten with equal level of service/food and it reminded of us the Goldrush Steakhouse at Madonna Inn.We will definitely return and thank you for such a great establishment!
