Japanese restaurant, Sushi restaurant
I don't even know where to start. The food (hibachi) is bland. It has NO TASTE! Very little shows. Felt rushed. Servers nowhere to be found. Finally had my white rice I had to ask for it. I had way better at "The Orient" at Windy Hill Road. I don't even know what to recommend here... Parking is valet only. On only accept credit card. 2 people cost about $100. Wife end up mad and still hungry because the food was just blah…

We understand that you have an affinity for The Orient as your wife’s family owns that restaurant, but as you also know from having family in the restaurant business, every review is very important to the longevity of that business. As a family-owned business that has been passed down from three generations of Nakato women, we have worked tirelessly for the past 50+ years to provide our guests with the very best service, food and hospitality. We take every review to heart and really learn from the valuable, honest criticisms, but we are afraid that is not what you provided. The fact that you have left reviews for two other restaurants stating that your “gallbladder burst” from dining at these establishments, both 5 months ago and 11 months ago, is quite shocking and as a doctor you should know, not possible. On behalf of Nakato and all hard-working restaurant owners in our community, we would sincerely request that you refrain from posting untrue, slanderous comments and reviews that affect not only our family restaurant, but the livelihood of all of our hard working employees.
Nakato was my first Japanese food and restaurant experience in ATL, so I didn't know what to expect. I came in with an open mind getting Asian food in ATL and was pleasantly surprised. My friends made a reservation at 8 pm on a Saturday night.I would highly recommend making reservations as the place was packed.Parking was fairly limited around the restaurant, but there was fortunately complimentary valet parking. As busy as it was, we didn't have to wait too long at the bar for our table. The service here was quick, and the food was good. Food portions were decent, too. I got the $80 kaisen-don, a deluxe version of Chirashi. It was good, but there was a lot more rice than fish for the upgraded cost. One member of our group got the $60 sukiyaki. The amount of food that came out for that dish could easily feed 2 ppl- so be warned lol.Everyone else either got rolls or the combination dinners, all of which were good proportions. If you're looking for an upscale mainstream Japanese restaurant in ATL, Nakato definitely fits the bill. However, if you are looking for more authentic Japanese foodie experience, I'd look elsewhere.

Birthday dinner at this location with my family. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The chef was funny and entertaining!! The food was okay … I was kind of disappointed.I had the hibachi steak and scallops which were okay!! The decor was very nice. Our favorite part was the video/picture area. That was fun and different
