Japanese restaurant
Every dish was incredible and well balanced. Our favorites were the Hokkaido Hokkaido and the tiger prawns. We also had a couple rolls and nigiri those were all super tasty and the fish was really fresh. Our server was super cool and very attentive as well! Will definitely be back.
this place was great.I think the honey vanilla milk buns are actually a skip.Although the milk buns themselves were fluffy and light with great texture, the butter they serve them with was just a miss in my book for some reason.Probably the dill.I still loved the sushi and would definitely come back with friends for the flying money cat roll.I would say they have decent prices for the quality of the fish.
Money Cat was one of the places that I was very tentative about going due to the mixed reviews on both Google and Yelp.I bit the bullet and decided to try this place.I’m glad I did.I know it’s not their fault but the parking is confusing. It was raining so we thought we could park in the garage then walk over without getting rained on.Yeah it was a negative. We ended up parking on the street then running around the corner to go inside. We went half hour after they opened on a Sunday for lunch. We made a reservation but we didn’t need it since it wasn’t busy.It was my birthday so the staff all signed a card and I got free dessert. We ordered a multitude of different items from both the prix fixe menu and regular menu.Food came out pretty fast.Service was great.Overall a 4.5. -honey vanilla milk buns 5/5 - bread was very good.Soft, moist inside, tasted great with the compound butter and smoked trout roe -chutoro toast 5/5 - I wished I had more of this.Crunchy, creamy, and bluefin just melted in my mouth -brussel sprouts ⅘ - i don’t know about this being $8 worth but very tasty. -shiso crunchy 5/5 - good blend.Crunchiness from the crispy shallots and creaminess from the avocado -wagyu yaki 5/5 - meat was very tender, didn’t have to chew much. -katsu sando 5/5 - I wished it was cut into smaller pieces for sharing but it was still a delectable dish. -truffle toro trio 5/5 - that toro mix was nicely prepared.Requires little chewing -flying money cat 5/5 - colorful pieces and delicious. -short rib 5/5 - aesthetically pleasing.Tender meat with savory sauce -unagi mami 5/5 - warm, crispiness from the panko fried shrimp, and flavorful -autumn bonsai 5/5 - beautiful presentation.I enjoyed trying the different tastes of everything on the plate -lychee ice cream ⅘ - lychee flavor was not very strong -valrhona cocoa brownie 5/5 - not too sweet, just the right amount of sweetness.I liked the brulee banana
