A welcome respite from hotel breakfast! We visited Mean Mug this morning and will likely go back tomorrow.
Not sure what is different about their coffee but it was perfect.
It was nice to see a vegetarian selection beyond toast.
I ordered the grits and veggies bowl with tofu scramble, and it was delicious. Update: Have been there two more times this trip.
I also tried the egg and avocado toast, iced matcha latte, breakfast croissant with vegetarian sausage, and split a cinnamon roll with my partner.
All food has been amazing!

This coffee shop is tucked away at Hamilton Place and is easy to miss.
(It’s across from Dave and Buster’s) I’m glad I was told about it as the latte with oatmilk was the smoothest I’ve had, with a rich flavor.
My companion had the breakfast bowl, and while it did not look like a lot of food, It was very filling and she did not finish it.
The kale, sweet pepper, and avocado were so fresh and vibrant, they almost looked picture perfect.
She pronounced it excellent and her favorite breakfast.
The display case is full of delicious looking scones and cinnamon rolls that are huge.
There is a nice outside patio, and inside, plenty of seating and power ports for working.
The 20-oz latte was $4 and the breakfast bowl $9.50.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

We were staying at aloft next door and ordered mean mug to go.
I ordered online and it was ready when they said it would be with no wait.
My dirty chi was amazing.
I also got an egg and morning star sausage bagel and it was solid.
Great breakfast options for when staying in town for a quick trip.
