The best meal I had during my entire 4-day stay in Madrid! The maguro katsu sando is a must to finish the meal and the eel nigiri with foie is outstanding! Everything that we ordered was excellent, all ingredients were super fresh and prepared to perfection.Prices are a bit high, but worth it. 10/10 recommend if you are looking for a cool spot with top notch food.
With very high expectations and being a sushi lover, I found this Japanese restaurant in Madrid to be quite mediocre. The restaurant is very small but nicely decorated. However, we were seated at the bar, which was lovely, but there was a column directly in front of us, obstructing our view of the sushi-making process. Regarding the food, it was very average and VERY expensive considering what we ordered (€220 in total for 2 people and only with a €40 bottle of white wine). Our favourite dishes were the Maguro Katsu Sando and the Miso Chicken Wings, but everything else, as I mentioned, was very mediocre. The nigiris and makis were ridiculously overpriced. For instance, the unagi nigiri with foie was €11 each piece and barely had any foie on it...The rice in the makis was not cooked to perfection (undercooked and grainy) and was heavily salted. Additionally, considering the prices, the waiter should have let us taste the wine before serving it, which he did not do.Overall, unfortunately, I would rate this place a solid generous 6/10.I think there are much better Japanese restaurants in Madrid which are worth visiting over this one.
We went for the cocktails and end up amazed by the food. In the bar, you can see how the prepared the sushi and the rest of the dishes.Hotate Maki is a Must! Recommended the yuzu and matcha cocktails. You have to book it in advance.
