This was my first time coming to Los Nopales, brought by a friend who found it and loved it. We had shredded beef nachos for appetizer. We got a small and had probably half left over.We stopped so we'd have room for dinner. I ordered chicken enchiladas with calabacitas (squash). The serving is huge.Squash is nicely roasted, topped with cheese. There's a small amount of shredded lettuce on the side also. The enchiladas are good, meat is tender, green sauce was tasty. My buddy ordered the lunch special #9 red enchiladas with beans and rice.He said that his meal was very good.He says he's never had a bad meal. Service was good. Our server quickly brought chips and 2 salsas, and menus, then checked with us several times, then left us alone. Overall, a good place to eat.
My first time trying Los Nopales. The food was actually really good! I had the shredded beef chimichanga enchilada style. It was perfectly flavored and a very generous portion. The beans and rice were good as well. We were served a bowl of chips and two kinds of salsa to begin with. One mild one hot, both were good.My only complaint was the service. The waiter was very nice and friendly, but he was preoccupied by a large party that was there. My drink was empty well before I was done eating but no one stopped to offer a refil until we were done eating and ready to pay. Other than that it was a nice place. I will give it another try soon.
Ordered carne seca because I had never had it before.Ordered it in the small chimichanga and it was enough for me for an average-sized whole meal.(For larger appetites, someone should order the large.) I enjoyed the carne seca and am really glad I ordered it since it's somewhat unique to the region and I'd never had it before. The male server was super polite and friendly.
