Dreka greeted us on the street we shopped a few min came back here to eat.To say it was DELICIOUS was an understatement.Kayla was our waitress she was great. There is such wonderful ambiance here. You can just sit there and imagine the worlds best blues players playing here. It's decorated with great pics, posters and awards. We had catfish crab cakes.BBQ pork sand, fried green tomatoes and La.Alligator bites. And talk about good portion size It's over the top. Dreka checked on us many times. What a great personality.Kayla was super attentive and very knowledgeable about the foods. The cook walked out and we all complimented him on his works of FANTASTIC food all cooked perfectly. Can't say enough about this place. If you're on Beale St in Memphis, Tn this is a must. You'll be glad you did. Thanks to all at Kings Palace Cafe for your kindness and great service and food.We appreciate you👍👍
Fabulous bbq (the best I’ve ever had!) and a must stop while in the area.We walked up and down Beale St before deciding on this place. Service was just a bit slow and we had to go to the bar to get the waitress’s attention to order. But it was worth the wait. We had the Crawfish and Shrimp Étouffée, Memphis Style Ribs, Champion Gumbo, and Pulled Pork. All were delicious. The Gumbo and Étouffée had just the perfect amount of “heat”. The BBQ chicken breast was dry and seemed overcooked. It didn’t have any sauce and was served over potatoes with just seasoning. The rice that was served with the catfish was undercooked and actually crunchy. For desert we had the Pecan Pie, which was clearly store-bought with a side of cool whip. The desert needs to be kicked up quite a bit to be on-par with the meal. Skip desert and grab an ice cream or homemade brownie sundae down the road. They offer Banana Foster cake on the menu but the waitress said they never have it. Overall a great meal that could be better with just a little more attention to detail for the price.
We came during a non peak time.Service was friendly but didn't get our order right.Gumbo was legit, perfect heat level and flavor.Came back to ask if we wanted grilled or fried chicken on the Cajun salad.Said grilled.Came out fried anyway. And got the dressing wrong.Wasn't bad, but no Cajun flare like the name suggests.Fried green tomatoes are worth it.
