Kianga's Kitchen - Vegan Soul Food

I think the food overall was delicious.
There were many things that were fantastic such as the oyster po'boy and the akara patties.
The rest of the food we had was good too, just not as wow as these too.
I highly recommend this place and recommend you try many different things to see what you like from the completely vegan kitchen.

I had the Oyster Mushroom Po Boy with a side of collard greens and black beans and rice.
Love the homemade pickles with the fried mushrooms, had just the right kick of vinegar.
My southern heart has never had vegan collard greens, but they did not disappoint! Flavorful and well-seasoned!! Delicious food and excellent service!! Also had the hibiscus tea sweetened, and all together it’s excellent!

Phenomenal! The dishes, beverages, and sauces were absolutely fantastic!! I got three "small plates," just so l could try mine things on the menu....
(the small plate offers a combination of any three items from the menu). All nine dishes l tried (plus a tomato soup), reflected serious creativity and whole heartedness that justifies Kianga's designation as a "soul food restaurant." But, the food is not just "soulful," it's also, seriously- "healthy." I don't know how, but l ended up with a tomato dish, tomato soup.
I'm a tomato soup-lover, and this one is way-up-there, period! It had actual, whole grape tomatoes, whose sweetness I could taste, and a staunch natural tomato flavor! Absolutely delightful...l will have a big bowl next time, for sure! If you're a ginger-lover like me, then that ginger tea is a must-try! Next time (for sure) I'm doing the Hibiscus Ginger option... The sauce l got for my Ankara Patties...I went with the hot sauce! No mistake there! It was not blazing hot, just mostly flavorful.
And...l suspect it's the manner in which they prepare this sauce that tones down the heat and brings out flavor in the hot peppers/chilis that form the base of this sauce. Located in a food court, the ambience is great.
Many food options to suit different tastes!! The service was nice and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be eating there frequently now :-)
