First time going to JP's The food is just phenomenal The crab meat is the best I've ever had. The food is a must everything great. I highly recommend this establishment. Service is very good very hospitable. Best of all when the whole island is jammed JP's is the place to be. The view from outside is beautiful. You can see Orchard beach from the out door seating.Beautiful views.
Aside from the ignorance of the owner, the server was amazing, and I didn't expect the pasta portion to be so much.I would like to note that the restroom was rank.It smells like a swamp, dirty fishtank, or marshland.I had to try to hold my breath.I felt like I was on a dirty pirate ship based on the movies I've seen. They could use a lot more TLC in that department. If you're very particular about cleanliness, I wouldn't recommend this place. They seem to be oblivious to the natural ways to clean. I would also recommend paying attention to the menu a little more.It was our first time visiting this place, and it wasn't really explained that the prices went up, and new menus were coming in, so we were a little confused about the bill. The server didn't point out and explain the handwritten price that was written at the top of the menu until we questioned the bill.It said "Add $1" or "Add $5" at the top, but we aren't mind readers to know exactly what it was supposed to mean, nor did the server point it out to us after being seated. Oh, and use seasoning on the peas if they're supposed to be a side dish with the lobster. It tasted like cardboard 🥴 We were unaware of some of the side items that came with the dish, because it wasn't mentioned, but I'm not sure why you would have to request food to be seasoned with basic seasonings. Anyway, if it's your first time visiting, I recommend asking a lot of questions about the food, and if you are particular about cleanliness, beware of the men's room.In my opinion, they think men like this look and women deserve better instead of giving both restrooms a pleasant atmosphere.
Owner response
Hey Matt thanks for your 4 Star review. However a few of your comments I take issue with.First off it says in multiple spots on the menu that we’ll season anything at no extra change wether it’s scampi Cajun etc.if you want your peas seasoned just ask.In terms on pricing it’s written clearly what we charge. What you ate was under market value.Check out the price of a pound and a half Nova Scotian lobster. You paid less than $50 for the dinner. That’s very inexpensive. In terms of the linguini you got a large portion for under $30 with salad and garlic bread, I think that’s very reasonable. In terms or the men’s room, as I’ve told other people that have commented on it , air fresheners, urinal tabs and other chemical deodorizers cause cancer, asthma and reduced lung function among other things.Fragrance candles and incense are no good for you either.I will not subject my customers nor my employees to this health danger.I do have an exhaust fan that runs 24/7.Sometimes it’s over powered and may take a few seconds to extract the odors. If somebody bombs the men’s room don’t hold it against me. You’re right the men’s room would remind someone of a pirate ship or like I like to call it a submarine. That’s by design. The ladies room has marble sinks and Italian wood cause most ladies don’t like submarines or pirate ships.Again thank you for the four star review and I hope to see you again soon ! Really? You took a star away from me because i answered your comment? What are we in school? Look at the reviews before yours and after yours.I’m doing something right. By the way Matthew, What does cardboard taste like? Hey Matty obviously you have alot of time on your hands that’s why you keep editing your review and taking stars away. Now you went from 4 stars to 1 star so you can’t take away any more.As for the pasta our motto is rather have too much than too little. In terms of these factious smells I suggest you get screened for PHANTOSMIA and while you’re at it tell the doctor everything tastes like cardboard to you.
As we were looking for nearby places to eat we happened across this gem on google.Right on the water so I know the views of the waves during the daytime would be amazing. We had no idea what to get because everything sounded amazing. But when we did get our food, just WOW! The portions are huge and well worth the trip. The owner was nice and they had plenty of seats for large and small parties.I would definitely go back again.
