Iron Star Urban Barbecue is a vibrant spot in Oklahoma City known for its smoky delights and a fully stocked bar. With a price friendly enough for casual outings, diners rave about the succulent brisket and tender pork ribs. While the modern decor featuring exposed bricks and hardwood creates a chic atmosphere, it can also turn up the volume—conversations can get a little loud. Friendly staff, creative drinks, and standout sweet potatoes round out the experience, making it a spot to check out amidst a dynamic food scene.

Like to give this place a better review.First BBQ place I have been that had a fully stocked bar.Unfortunately, they have gone to the "modern" design so many restaurants have.Exposed bricks, hardwood floors, tin ceilings, hard furniture, just nothing to absorb any sound. It gets so loud you wind up hollering at each other to carry on a conversation.Food was good and well presented.Staff were excellent.Drinks were good.Interior design looked nice.Just way too loud for a fun date night.
Exelent experience! Delicious food and great service all this at a very decent price. This comes to show that great food doesn't always need to be expensive.Their Brisket was at its best! Pork ribs so tender that meat was just sliding out of them effortlessly. Thanks to out waiter Matt for the great suggestions and even better service. We will come back, even though we live in LA.
We went to Iron Star to give it another chance and once again it was a disappointment. Our waitress was great, but the food was not.We started with the bacon wrapped quail breast and they were so over cooked that they were tough. Our entrees showed up to our table minutes after we ordered them and that should have been our first sign that things were going south quickly.I ordered the vegetable plate with whole fried okra, sweet potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts with carrots and it came with a house salad. My husband ordered the combo plate with pork ribs, jalapeño cheddar sausage, fries and seared green beans. My first piece of okra was good, but the rest were so tough that I could not bite through them.My sweet potatoes were under seasoned and lukewarm. The brussel sprouts were cold and soggy and my bacon vinaigrette salad dressing had the consistency of caramel.I sent the brussel sprouts back and the next batch was limp, soggy and obviously put in a microwave to warm. The meat of my husband’s plate was good, but the fries and green beans were not seasoned at all and lukewarm at best. The manager offered us a free dessert, but we didn’t want any, so she took our appetizer off.We appreciated that, but it didn’t make up for an awful experience.
