This place is a must if you're in Newark.
Been around forever and newly renovated.
Great atmosphere right by the Prudential center.....with Devils memorabilia all over the walls.
We're talking about an old school kosher deli with some of the best homemade pastrami, brisket and corned beef you'll find anywhere.
I started with a cup of the chicken gumbo which was delicious.
Not too spicy and full of flavor.
I ordered the #5 sandwich which says what they're famous for......let me say WOW.
They're not kidding.
Huge corned beef and pastrami on rye with slaw and 1000 island dressing.
Pickles are always on the table as well.
The meat just melts ....no joke....melts in your mouth.
Unreal.
One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten.
The place gets packed so get there early or order ahead.
Huge menu of all sorts of goodies.

I met up with some Yankees twitter friends and had a great time.
Hobby’s is fun, there is nearby parking, and the classic deli food never fails. Knowing I had a big meal coming in the evening, I went light with an outstanding mushroom barley soup and a perfectly grilled beef hot dog on a toasted bun.
And I could “wash it down with a Doctor Brown”, with apologies to the Lovin’ Cohens. We loved talking to the owners, but I never mentioned myself as a NY Rangers fan😂😂.

What an amazing place to not only eat but just to enjoy the old school deli vibe.
Owner came out and conversed with us and made sure our food and service was good, but the food and service wasn’t just good it was top notch.
Come and enjoy a corned beef and pastrami on rye it was one of the best I have ever had.
