It looks like a hole in the wall but it actually had about five booths to eat it but it does a big take out business.
The smothered pork chops were awesome, and my husband loved the pigs feet.
Great sides to choose from and TWO pieces of cornbread.
It was a down home Southern feast.
The people working there could not have been nicer!! They went out of their way to give excellent service.

Came here with my mom to get some soul food in March.
Our family drove down here from Indiana to bury our family member.
Decided to give them a try and they did not disappoint.
We ordered oxtails, baked chicken, and beef tips and I think ALL the sides, and a Kool-Aid! EVERYTHING I received on my plate was GOOD! My mom enjoyed her plate and I got 2 other plates for other family members that THEY also enjoyed.
If I ever come back to Birmingham, I will definitely be back! (Under better circumstances of course).

Hard to find good customer service these days.

I have eaten at the restaurant several times over the years.
However, this last time, the food was subpar.
I had a vegetable plate which consists of collard greens, candied yams, and mac& cheese.
Yams was not sweet, greens not seasoned, and Mac & Cheese was out the box made with what looked like nacho cheese.
Please bring back the old cooks.
Who cooked with care and did not just throw something together.
Do not ruin the reputation of this great Soul Food restaurant with horrible food.
