Restaurant
We stopped in in Coq D'Or within the Drake hotel on Chicago's magnificent Mile during a shopping trip before christmas. This restaurant and bar in the basement level of the historic Drake hotel was warm and cozy.We especially appreciate that they had a live piano player who sort of did a rousing set of sing-along songs like a dueling piano bar.The service was quick and courteous, and our flatbread pizza was wonderful and drinks were served quickly and correctly.
Nice, cozy atmosphere.Felt like a nice shelter from the cold winter. We received attentive service from José and the drinks the made were very tasty.
So my wife had wine and I had a beer.Hard to get that wrong.Service was fine. But we had an appetizer there that is noteworthy of being one of the worst appetizers we've had. Now, not that each piece of the dish was poor, but that it was just a failure in the structure category. As well it was also $24 I'm sorry I didn't send it back.I will leave a photo of said offending dish that was basically a de-constructed sandwich.Ironically we ordered this because we didn't want a sandwich. If you visit stick with drinks trust me.Chicago is full of outstanding foods!
