I had the pleasure of dining at Shang Noodle & Chinese, and it was an experience worth sharing! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special. The place was bustling with activity, which is always a good sign. We started off with some appetizers: pot stickers and steamed soup dumplings. While the pot stickers were satisfying, the soup dumplings left a bit to be desired. However, once our server stepped in to recommend some dishes, our taste buds were in for a treat. The twice-cooked pork belly was an absolute delight! It was bursting with flavor and had just the right amount of spice.Although, I must admit, a certain peppery kick left my tongue tingling for a while.Nevertheless, it was a small price to pay for such a culinary adventure. The Yu Shang eggplant was another winner with its perfect balance of sweetness and spice. And let's not forget about the dry sizzling pot chicken - it was simply amazing! The only dish that didn't quite hit the mark for us was the shrimp garlic fried rice. While it was decent, it lacked the bold flavors we had come to expect from the rest of the menu. Overall, the ambiance of the restaurant was charming, and the food was undeniably delicious.I would definitely recommend Shang Noodle & Chinese to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Chicago.
Highly recommend to make a reservation if you can. It's a popular restaurant. They have a small waiting/sitting area inside the restaurant (can sit probably 6 people).Decent amount of food item selection. The food we got were all great, especially the Hong Kong Chow Fun, one of the best we ever had!! As this place is super packed and with a constant wait line, it will not be a great place to dine and stay sit and chat. All the employees we had interactive with were very friendly, swiftly, and professionally. We love it!! 10/10 will recommend this place for the amazing food.
Very atmospheric and just a lovely vibe. The food was solid and the staff was very kind, they helped suggest some menu items and they did not disappoint at all.I personally got the everything fried rice and honey sesame chicken.Good portion sizes for the price on both, the everything fried rice was very good and everything was cooked to perfection. The honey sesame chicken was very good, breaded differently from your every day Chinese takeout spot and was very clean and crisp.Well seasoned with a very savory sauce, rice was on point and the drinks were very good, I got a mule and it was nice and sour.
